Google is like a brick wall: they need customer service
Google and Gmail are great, until there is a problem. Then, there is nobody to call, and often the answers cannot be found in the blog, and there is nothing to do. Many of my emails do not go through to me, and Norm, with google responded, "that is why it is free." I have spent money on google voice, and google ads. Also, because google takes information about consumers, and sells it to sellers, their service is not actually free. We pay for it in violations of our civil liberties.
I understand the cost for customer service can be large, but if Google would began to file lawsuits against civil liberties violators, like the National Security Agency, demanding that they pay for the damage being done to the users privacy, as co-litigants with the victims, Google and its users can profit from those causing the damage, using common law.
